Petrus abbey-style beers are brewed by Bavik, an independent family brewer located in the Flanders region of Belgium. They provide a real alternative to the more mainstream Belgian beers that are widely available in UK.

Three beers from the Petrus range are currently supplied to the UK:

  • Petrus Blond: Top-fermented golden ale with a firm body; pours with a good bubbly head and lace. 6.6% abv.
  • Petrus Double Brown: Top-fermented dark ale, in the style of a traditional Belgian abbey double. There are creamy, rich, bittersweet flavours. 6.5% abv. Petrus Double Bruin won a 2011 award as Europe’s Best Abbey Trappist Dark Ale.
  • Petrus White: A classic Belgian white beer brewed with wheat and malted barley. It also contains oats, with a consequent smoothness; it is very aromatic with a clean, zesty fruitiness and a faintly herbal tartness. 5.0% abv.

The Petrus beers are available in 30 Litre kegs and cases of 24 x 33cl bottles.
